Many employers and public corporations struggle with their obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act of 2008 (S.3406).
Struggle no longer.
There are regional centers who are specifically set up to help businesses and corporations understand the law. The entities are called Disability and Business Technology Assistance Center or DBTACs for short. There are 10 regional DBTACs that provide number resources, information and referral, and training on the ADA and other disability rights’ laws to businesses, employers, government entities, people with disabilities and the general public.
South Carolina is served by the Southeast DBTAC. Visit their website at http://www.sedbtac.org/. The national toll-free number is (800) 949-4232 V/TTY.
